Wow! You still are not married? What is the problem? Have you ever heard that from your friends, family, and even your enemies? Well, lets see what God has to say to singles about enjoying singleness.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Bible
  • Open heart
  • Will to do
  1. Step 1

First let's deal with being single. Singleness can be difficult if you constantly compare yourself to married people. Sometimes comparison are not good. With that said, stop comparing yourself to your married friends, associates, and family members. Being single is actually a wonderful time to find yourself and shore up on your relationship with God. You do not want to enter any relationship all broken to pieces, you want to enter relationships either whole, or in the process of being whole. How do you as a Christian single find that joy in being single? Your first love must be Christ. If there is anything else in competition with your love, then you must over throw it and place Christ as the most important person in your life. Fulfillment comes in knowing Christ and allowing Him to fill in all of those voids.

  2. Step 2

Second, get a life. What are you doing? Being a saved and single person does not mean that you sit in a room a pray all day. Now there is nothing wrong with doing that, but God does want you to enjoy life. Besides you can pray as you go about living the life God has for you. So what should you do? Travel? The best time to travel is when you are single. Go to Europe, or a state that you have not visited before and since you are in love with Christ, spend some quiet time with Him also. You can also get involved in missions. Helping others that are less fortunate is very fulfilling when you think about how God has blessed you.

Surround yourself with godly friends. People that love Christ just like you do or even more. Surround yourself with people that are not going to try to tempt you to compromise your life in Christ.

Explore new things in the culture. Museums, amusement parks, sports, etc.. Do not just sit at home and complain about being lonely.

  3. Step 3

Third, Grow in Christ. How can you learn more about the bible. How can you serve more in your local church. Really, during this time of singleness, you should be focused on serving God.

  4. Step 4

Fourth, if you Love Christ, get a life, and grow in Christ, then I am sure that your desire to meet the person that God has for you as your husband or wife will be in place as you are in place.

on 9/2/2008 Teachforever: You nailed it.
As soon as an event is labeled, "For Singles," it's over. The most meaningful events must stand on their own. They must be worthy, whether single people attend them, or not. I don't know where you live, but Living Waters Christian Bookstore, 1010 E Arrow Hwy, Covina, CA has a free once-a-month seminar (How To Learn Hebrew). We meet in a large conference room in the back. After the seminar, large groups get together to eat and discuss the seminar. We do this not because we are hooking up, but because we are intelligent, vital humans building meaningful lives.
