So you’ve got two Sims and you want to have them fall in love. That’s all well and good, but it may not happen on it’s own, even if the Sims are a good match for each other. But, with a little time and effort, you can have sparks flying between the unlikeliest of friends.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Have them meet up when they’re feeling good. This is important. If your Sims meet up when their motive bars (Hunger, Bladder, Social, etc.) are low, they’ll be grumpy and their conversation will go poorly. Make sure they take care of themselves before they try and strike up a conversation.
Step2
Chat, chat, chat. This is the most basic way for your Sims to get to know other Sims. While it may be a little boring, your Sim will test the waters and discover more about the other Sim and you’ll quickly find whether or not they are compatible. If your Sim yawns a lot and keeps walking away, it’s not going well. If the conversation keeps on going, there’s potential.
Step3
Tell a few jokes. Intersperse a joke or a dirty joke between chat sessions to break things up a little. You won’t get as many friend points for a joke, but nearly everyone likes them. Be warned: grumpy Sims may not like dirty jokes!
Step4
Try a friendly hug when their friend score reaches around 50 or 60. Trying anything even remotely romantic before the two Sims are friends is a bad idea and will almost certainly end poorly. Waiting a little longer almost always yields good results.
Step5
Keep up the romance if hearts start appearing. Pink hearts indicate a crush. Once you see those, it is safe to continue flirting, romantic hugging and some light kissing. If you see red hearts, that indicates love, meaning you can progress even further. Just remember to take it slow; like real people, Sims don’t like it when other Sims push too far too fast.

Tips & Warnings

  • If your Sim-to-be is responding poorly in the early stages, you may want to check their interests. If they have no mutual interests with their intended, you may want to reconsider trying to start a romance.
