Things You'll Need:
- Toothbrush
- Floss
-
Step 1
Try to limit or cut out your consumption of garlic, onions, and other foods that are suspected of causing odors. These others include picked food including sour kraut, anchovies, radishes, etc.
-
Step 2
Make sure you brush your teeth thoroughly and floss. This is done not only to clean your teeth but to remove particles of food that may be stuck between your teeth. As these particles dissolve in your mouth, they release smelly gases.
-
Step 3
Make sure to brush or somehow scrape your tongue. Much of the odor causing bacteria reside here. So, try to brush away the coatings on your tongue after you brush your teeth.
-
Step 4
A mouth wash can provide temporary relief, but in the long run, it could add to the problem as it contains sugar that the odor causing bacteria can use. Also, I generally suspect that mouth washes, even the non-alcoholic ones, can cause cancer. There may not be scientific evidence of this, but anything that tends to burn the mouth probably isn't good for you.
