Golf can either be a challenge or relaxation, as long as you go into it with the right attitude. Sometimes the challenge is how to prepare mentally for golf, but it can be done. Here’s how.

From Quick Guide: Golf Clothing Guide
Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Get yourself relaxed. Remember golf is a lot slower than most things, including turtles. Expect to spend the day on the green in a tranquil mood.

  2. Step 2

Start your golfing meditation by breathing deeply with your eyes closed, imagining that sea of green greens that will soothe your soul.

  3. Step 3

Once all tension leaves your bones, infuse them with thoughts of golfing success. Keep your eyes closed and imagine that same sea of green greens with you on the edge of it.

  4. Step 4

Picture yourself hitting the ball in a gracious arc and the ball plopping with aplomb into the hole at the center of the green.

  5. Step 5

Repeat until you are soothed, smoothed and so ready to go grab your golf shoes.

  6. Step 6

Take a moment to repeat this meditative sequence if you begin to get frustrated on the course, such as when your ball splashes into a ravine or gets eaten by a sand trap.

Tips & Warnings
  • You’ll golf your best with the proper clothing, which should include knickers and really cool golf shoes.
  • If your golf outing is a venture to talk business, forget all of the above and just concentrate on letting the other guy win.
