Once per day, wash your hair with a dandruff shampoo containing pyrithione zinc. Why? It cleanses the scalp well and prevents anything from clogging up the hair follicles. It also primes the scalp for Step 2. When you apply it, try to concentrate it on the scalp. This is especially important if you have longer hair. Let the shampoo sit on for two minutes before you rinse it out. If you need to, follow with a dandruff conditioner. Otherwise, move on to Step 2.

Apply minoxidil to the scalp. Follow the instructions on the package. You can buy it in any grocery or drug store. Instead of using the name brand hair regrowth formula, many stores carry a less expensive store brand version, which will save you money yet it still contains the same active ingredient in the same percentage. Let dry and leave on your hair.

Tips & Warnings
If your scalp does not respond or your hair loss might be due to something other than male pattern hair loss, see a dermatologist for treatment.
Minoxidil used to be used for blood pressure (to lower it). If you are concerned about your heart, have heart trouble or high blood pressure, or are currently taking blood pressure medication, first discuss using minoxidil with your doctor.
