How to Treat Dog diarrhea with natural cures

We all love our pets, so when our dogs don't feel well it can make us feel bad too. Sometimes it can be difficult to know what you should or shouldn't give your dog, but there is an easy way to help when your best friend gets diarrhea.

Things You'll Need

• 1/2 Cup cooked rice
• 1/2 Cup cooked ground beef or ground chicken
• Water

Instructions

1. Simply begin by withholding only the food if your dog is not experiencing other symptoms, such as fever, vomiting, pain or dehydration. Make sure your dog has plenty of clean water to drink, but no regular dog food. Withhold the food for 24 hours for adults, 12 hours for puppies.

2. Cook 1/2 cup of plain rice and place in a bowl to cool once the time period has elapsed.

3. Cook 1/2 cup of unseasoned ground beef or ground chicken, drain the fat, then place in a bowl to cool.

4. Combine the rice and ground beef or chicken and allow the dog to eat it.

5. Follow the rice and meat diet for two to three days or until the diarrhea goes away. Make sure the dog has plenty of water to drink so he can stay well hydrated during this time.

Tips & Warnings

• Check your dog's gums. Sometimes dry or sticky gums can indicate dehydration.

• If your pet is not improving or worsens, contact your vet immediately.
