Sangria is a wine punch that originated in Spain. It is made of red or white wine, sliced fruit and sugar, among other things. Wow your friends with a sangria soiree! Prepare this cool, refreshing drink for the perfect spring or summer party.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Sangria (bought or made)
  • Music mix CD of Spanish, salsa or merengue songs

Step1
Send an evite to your friends inviting them over for a sangria soiree. Ask them each to bring a small gift (under $10) that reminds them of spring. Ladies should wear summer or spring dresses, and men should wear semicasual spring or summer garb (such as linen pants).
Step2
Prepare or buy enough sangria to fill several pitchers that will last throughout the party. If you want to prepare sangria but need a recipe, see Resources below.
Step3
Pick up enough fruit trays from the grocery store to feed your guests. Also, prepare or buy a crackers and cheese tray and meat and vegetable tray.
Step4
Pick up several large wine or martini glasses--if you don't have them already--from a housewares store. Also, grab some cute printed napkins, a tablecloth and several candles and candleholders while you're there. Buy some fresh, spring flowers (tulips, orchids, daffodils) from the florist and place them in a vase.
Step5
Create or buy a music mix CD that features Latin music to set the mood. As guests arrive, have this playing in the background. Allow guests to mix and mingle and enjoy!
Step6
After guests have mixed and mingled, gather them around for a "sangria soiree" game. Place all the gifts that the guests have brought in the center of the circle. Then have guests choose a gift. They should pass the gift around the circle clockwise for 10 seconds. Then pass it around counterclockwise for 20 seconds. Then again clockwise for 30 seconds. At the end of the total minute, the gift that is in their hands will be the gift that they end up with. Open the gifts and allow your guests to enjoy their souvenirs!
