Things You'll Need:
- Wrapping paper
- Transparent tape (or sturdier tape for heavier duty)
- Box to be wrapped
- Scissors
-
Step 1
Cut your paper so that it is the circumference of the box plus three inches. The other side should be twice the width of the end of the box, minus and inch or two. You want a snug fit, and a good cover, but not too much extra in any direction.Tear off ten or twelve pieces of tape and put them on the edge of your work surface.
-
Step 2
First WrapWrap the box around the first side, so that the ends meet on the top side of the box. Fold the two ends together in a wrapping fold. Fold once to fold the ends together, fold again to hold it, then make a third fold to pull the paper tightly around the box. Secure with tape in one or two places. (More for a bigger box.)
-
Step 3
Second and Third WrapTurn the box so that an open end is facing you. Push the wides with the ends toward the box, squarely along the end of the box. Push the paper down until it is flat against the entire surface of the box and is folded to contact three sides of the top. Tape this side in place.
-
Step 4
Do the same with the two connecting sides of the paper. Tape each side in place as you go.
-
Step 5
One end folded and taped. You will be left with one untaped piece of folded paper on the side of the box opposite the joined ends. It should already be folded into a triangle. Fold the end of the triangle down about half an inch, then smooth that flattened triangle into place on top of the box. Tape it into place.
-
Step 6
Repeat Steps 3, 4 and 5 for the opposite end of the box.
