How to wrap cloth to make a turban thumbnail
Turbans can be worn for artistic expression or to cover hair loss.

There are several different styles of wrapping turbans. This is a style common to dancers or for people with hair loss. It takes a little practice, but after a couple of tries you should be able to master it. Does this Spark an idea?

  • Thin fabric, preferably cotton, 45 inches by 3 yards

Instructions

    • 1

      Fold your cloth in half lengthwise and drape it over your head, equal length on both sides.

    • 2

      Now holding the cloth close to your head, twist the cloth just below your ear lobe, forming a cap over your head.

      Take the two sides of cloth and bring it to the back of your head, crossing over in the center and bringing back over your ears to the front. Cross again in the front and bring to the back.

      Tie the remaining cloth in the back or the front like a shoestring and tuck under for a snug fit.

Tips & Warnings

  • To make the turban more stable, secure it with bobby pins if desired.
