How to Tell if Your date is married

Beware if your date shows up in full wedding regalia

He’s gorgeous, he’s funny and he’s picking you up at 8:00 p.m. But is he single? You can tell if your date is married with a few simple steps.

Instructions

1. Ask him. Not all men will tell the truth at this point, but it gets it out of the way early.

2. Look for a wedding band mark. If his skin is bright white where a wedding ring should be or he keeps playing with that finger as if he’s missing something, show him the door.

3. Note if he keeps saying the pronoun “we,” as in, “We bought a house,” or “We went to France.” Don’t believe him when he says “we” is his best beer buddy or his sister.

4. See where he takes you. If you end up 52 miles out of town eating lunch at a remote, roadside diner, you may want to wonder why you didn’t stay closer to town.

5. Get his phone number. A man who won’t give you his number is a man who has a big reason, like a wife, of why you should never call him.

Tips & Warnings

• Sometimes men will slip and call you another name. Ask who that other woman is.

• Beware of those who say they are “separated,” “mad at her” or “thinking about divorce.” Tell him to call you when the divorce is final.
