1. Step 1

Send out invitations to your friends inviting them to your summer blockbuster party. Tell them to brush up on their film facts and trivia from 2007 to prepare for a day of games and big prizes.

  2. Step 2

Head to your local movie store and buy several posters of films that were blockbusters in 2007. "I am Legend," "Ratatouille," "Spider-Man 3," and "Transformers" are just a few examples. Buy three additional blockbuster films from 2007. Then, head to the local movie theater (should be a large chain) and pick up a gift certificate for movie tickets.

  3. Step 3

Take a trip to the grocery store and pick up bags of kettle corn and regular popcorn; meat, fruit and vegetable trays; an assortment of beverages such as bottled water, fruit punch, sodas, etc; a variety of candy, the types that could be found behind a movie theater's snack counter like Raisinets and Sour Patch Kids.

  4. Step 4

Place the movie posters around your living room or the viewing area for the party. Then set up the snacks, food and drink on a table.

  5. Step 5

Prepare for the "Blockbuster Nights of Fun" game. This is a trivia game that is played competitively, with each guest going head to head with the other until there is only one guest left standing. The guest that lasts the longest will be declared the winner and will win the grand prize: A gift bag that includes a gift certificate for several tickets to the movies and a collection of 2007 blockbuster films.

On 30 note cards, write the names of blockbuster film titles. On 30 additional note cards, write descriptions of blockbuster films. On 30 more note cards, write quotes from blockbuster films. These do not have to be from the same films or from 2007.

  6. Step 6

To play the game, have each guest choose three note cards from each type of stack. Stacks should be labeled, "titles," "quotes," "descriptions." For the title cards, guests must name two actors that were in the film that was named. For the quotes cards, guests must name the film from which the quotes are associated. For the description cards, guests must name the film that the card describes.

If any guest answers a question wrong, he or she is eliminated. The game will continue until only one person remains. That will be the winner. Present the winner with the grand prize gift bag.

  7. Step 7

The winner of the game will get to choose which of the three blockbuster films you provided will be played first. Serve up the popcorn and drinks and enjoy! Guests can choose the second and third film.
