      Send an invite to your friends asking them to your Spring Dessert Tasting Party. Ask them to bring a dish that reminds them of the season, like strawberry shortcake, peach cobbler or apple pie. Let them know that the person who bakes the best dessert of the party will win a prize.

      Grab some colorful spring flowers from the local florist. Place them in a vase and put it on your serving table to serve as the centerpiece.

      Create a ballot box for the dessert tasting contest. Paint or wrap a shoe box in bright, solid-colored wrapping paper. Then cut a slit in the top of the box so that guests can drop their ballots inside of it.

      Make or buy sangria and a light non-alcoholic punch to serve guests. Also, pick up a couple of fruit trays that include fruit dip. Then, head to a restaurant considered to be a local favorite for dessert and buy a gift certificate.

      Bake a spring dessert. Your dish will not be included in the competition, however.<br><br>As guests arrive to your party, hand them a note card. After all desserts have been placed on the serving table, guests should taste each one and write on their note card the name of the dessert that they liked the best. The note cards should be placed in a box at the end of the table.

      Towards the middle of the party, after everyone has mixed and mingled, announce the winner of the dessert tasting party. Award the winner with the gift certificate.
