Here are some steps to help you quit drinking soft drinks and the only thing you will need is nearly-free water!

Instructions

Make a plan. If you are worried about headaches or fatigue due to caffeine withdrawals, you will probably want to stop drinking soda on a Friday afternoon. That way you will have the weekend to recuperate.

    • 2

Remove soft drinks from your home. If it isn't in your house, you will be less likely to drink it. If your kids give you grief, remember that this will be healthier for them in the long run as well.

    • 3

As soon as you quit drinking soda, start chugging water. Water will keep you hydrated and flush the toxins from your body, which can actually lessen your caffeine withdrawal symptoms.

    • 4

If you are craving some flavor or the bubbly taste of soda, try adding some fruit slices or a splash of juice to your water, or try drinking sparkling water for a little fizz.

    • 5

Set small goals. See if you can go one weekend only drinking water and no soft drinks. After you make it through a weekend, aim for a week. Before you know it you will have quit consuming soft drinks!
