- <br> Items to put in the containers, such as flowers, goldfish, sand and seashells

Look for vases, jars and other decorative bowls and containers at discount stores like the 99 Cent Store, TJ Maxx and Marshalls.

Go to a craft store like Michael's or JoAnn's and find various objects to place in these containers. Look for items like potpourri, candy with decorative or holiday wrappers, seashells or fancy hand soaps.

Find a spot for two or three vases in your home. Place them in spots such as the entryway, dining room table and family room.

Determine what types of flowers would look best in these various rooms and vases.

Place a candy bowl with colorful candy in it on display in the family room on a side table or another spot that is welcoming and easy to see.

Fill a tall vase or decorative container halfway with sand. Set a few strategically placed seashells ton top of the sand. Place the vase in a room that has a lot of light or white/light-colored walls.
