Doing squats in the pool is a great way to build your leg muscles without hurting you joints. Here are some tips on how to do them.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Water weights (optional)
  1. Step 1

Go to the shallow end of the pool. The water should be at chest level when you are standing flat footed on the bottom of the pool.

  2. Step 2

Next, put your feet shoulder width apart and put your hands at your sides. If you are using water weights, put the dumbbells at your sides and try to push against the water as you do squats.

  3. Step 3

Slowly, pretend you are trying to sit on an imaginary chair. Bend your knees as far as you can.

  4. Step 4

Just as slowly, stand back up.

  5. Step 5

Start out with three sets of 10, but don't push yourself too hard. Do what you can and do a little bit more every day.
