Giving a full body massage can be a great way to treat your mate, child or baby. Here is how to give a full body massage, even if you are just a beginner.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Massage oil
  1. Step 1

Have the person disrobe and lie down on a comfortable area where he can stretch out on his stomach, like a bed or large couch. Let the person cover himself with a sheet if modesty is an issue. You can uncover the part you are working on, then cover him back up when you are done.

  2. Step 2

Start with the head. Use your fingertips to gently move the scalp in small circles. Start at the hairline and work your way back to the shoulders.

  3. Step 3

Put some massage oil in your hands and rub them together until the oil is warm. Start working on the neck by gently kneading the skin with your hands and thumbs. Gently press your thumbs into indentations in the muscle that you find and rub them.

  4. Step 4

Continue down to the shoulders with the same motion. Then massage each arm down to the hands and fingers. You can do this by pretending that you are putting lotion onto the skin. Use long, sweeping strokes that go downward to the hands. Once again, pay special attention to indentations.

  5. Step 5

Move to the back, re-coating your hands with oil when needed. Massage the back the same way you massaged the neck.

  6. Step 6

Move down to the legs and massage them the same way you massaged the arms.

  7. Step 7

Finish up by massaging the feet. The feet are very important because a lot of stress builds up there. Wrap your hands around the foot with both of your thumbs on the foot's sole. Start with the heel and use your thumbs to push the muscles of the foot gently. Keep working outward until you get to the toes.

Tips & Warnings
  • Try not to talk while massaging. Let your subject just relax and enjoy.
  • Never put oil from the bottle directly on the skin. Always warm it with your hands first.
  •
Pay attention to the reaction of the person you are massaging. If she tenses, it means you are causing her discomfort.
  •
Always use gentle, slow movements to avoid injury.
  •
When massaging babies, take extra care to avoid massaging the "soft spot" on their scalp.
