Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Massage chair
  •
Candles
  •
Soft music
  1. Step 1

Turn off the lights in the room where you have the massage chair. Instead of using artificial lights, light scented candles instead.

  2. Step 2

Turn off the television so that it does not distract your chair massage, and turn on soft relaxing music instead.

  3. Step 3

Start with your neck. The biggest problems with massage chairs are that it does not necessarily massage the neck very well. Set the massage chair to “Upper Back” or “Neck” so that it massages the highest point possible. Slouch in your massage chair so that the massage chair effectively massages your neck.

  4. Step 4

Massage your lower back. Just as it is difficult to have the massage chair get to your neck, it is also hard for the chair to make contact with your lower back. Lean back in the chair and slide your back as far as possible so that the massage mechanism can effectively massage your lower back. Bend your back over just a little if necessary to allow your lower back to me massaged.

  5. Step 5

Relax in the massage chair and set it for whole back, allowing the massage chair to smooth out the rest of your aches and pains. If it is not quite reaching pains in your back, shift your body to the side to get all the points that bother you. If your scapula area is especially bothersome, lift your arm over your head so that the chair can reach hidden muscles. Also, hug yourself to allow the chair to reach more back muscles.

  6. Step 6

Finish your chair massage for completely relaxing in the chair for the last couple of minutes. When the massage stops, slowly stretch the muscles you have just massaged with the chair. Do neck circles, touch your toes, and lie on the floor and stretch your center back by lifting your leg and bringing in down on the other side of your body.

  7. Step 7

Finally, drink water and allow your body to relax for a few more minutes. You should be able to complete this chair massage in 30 to 40 minutes.

Tips & Warnings
  • Do not stay in the massage chair too long as you can cause excessive soreness.
