A clean newborn goat is one of the sweetest things on earth.

It’s tiny, it’s braying and it’s covered in blood. It’s hard to imagine the squirmy newborn goat will ever be cute, but they truly are. Once you clean a newborn goat, you’ll want to put him on your pillow rather than back in the barnyard. Here’s how to spruce up these adorable creatures.

Instructions

    • 1

Let mama goat do her thing and retrieve the newborn once it’s clear the birthing process is finished.

    • 2

Gently wrap the newborn in a towel and quickly proceed to the bathtub.

    • 3

Use warm water to rinse the goat from head to hoof, using a small amount of gentle soap or baby shampoo if necessary.

    • 4

Dry the goat thoroughly and wrap him in a dry towel to return to his mother.

    • 5

Present the newborn back to its mother, donating the towel and sit with them a few moments to make sure she takes over from there.

    • 6

      Clean your bathtub.

Tips & Warnings

  • Be prepared to be awed by the beauty of it all.

  • Separate the mother and newborn from other goats, otherwise the newborn is likely to get trampled, butted and even killed.

  • <br>You may want to put down a mat inside the tub, as goat hooves can scratch it.
