Instructions

1. Start with a ghost tour ticket for Chillingham Castle. They are open year round and a ticket for a 2-hour tour is very reasonably priced. Check out the Chillingham Castle link provided in the resource area to get more information on getting your ticket.

2. Go to the pink bedroom and look towards the fireplace. Here it is said that the "blue boy" or "radiant boy" appears to visitors. The story goes that when renovating the fireplace, a young boy's bones were found buried in the wall and now his moans and cries can be heard throughout the castle.

3. 

   The other famous ghost is said to be that of Lady Berkeley whose husband abandoned her for her sister. Lady Berkeley committed suicide and now the sound of her dress rustling on the stairs and a feeling of an eerie presence in the turret area are attributed to her.

4. At dark, take a walk outside and listen for the sounds of ancient soldiers walking in the courtyard. Use your digital recorder here to see if you can capture the sounds of their footsteps.

5. Call out to John Sage. A famous Chillingham castle torturer, it is said that his evil spirit still dwells here and toys with visitors.
