Petroleum and mineral oil have no beneficial properties. They molecules in mineral oil ae too large to penetrate the hair shaft and other carrier oils such as Jojoba oil are more closely related and similar to the sebum that humans naturally produce. Petroleum is greasy slick while carrier oils are able to penetrate the ahir and truly condition it. A lot of the products that natural hair sisters think are natural...AREN'T natural. For instance Organic Root Stimulator is not natural as well as Motions. It's hard for natural products to be stocked in stores as they do not have harsh parabens...so if you are looking for naturla products it would be most beneficial to either go to an herbal heath food store or order online. Mineral Indulgence, has 100% natural products made for black women and a sulfate free shampoo that doesn't dry out the hair. My family has a variety of hair textures
