Every salad dressing company in America has a line of low fat salad dressings, but many of these dressings leave much to be desired in terms of flavor. Low fat salad dressings that not only taste good but are also good for your health and waistline can be made with wholesome, tasty ingredients in a matter of minutes. Grapefruit vinaigrette is a fresh tasting low fat salad dressing that is delicious on any type of green salad.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1/4 cup pink grapefruit juice
  • 1 tbsp. extra virgin oil
  • 2 tbsp. balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tbsp. prepared mustard (preferably dijon)
  • 1 tbsp. honey
  • Black pepper (to taste)
  • 2 fresh mint leaves
  1. Step 1

    In a jar or salad dressing shaker, combine the grapefruit juice, extra virgin olive oil, balsamic vinegar, prepared Dijon mustard, honey, pepper (to taste) and fresh mint leaves.

  2. Step 2

    Cover jar or salad dressing shaker and shake until ingredients are combined.

  3. Step 3

    Let low fat grapefruit vinaigrette sit in the refrigerator over night, to allow the mint flavor to shine through.

  4. Step 4

    Shake dressing well before serving.

  5. Step 5

    Serve low fat grapefruit dressing over mixed baby greens, grapefruit segments, dried cranberries and walnuts for a delicious and healthy salad.
