Beautiful three-dimensional designs can be acquired with the use of puff paint. The product can be used on paper and fabric and is machine or hand-washable. Results are easy to achieve, and the technique is easy and fun.
Lightly trace the design that you wish to create on your paper or fabric. You can use a pencil or any other type of sketch tool.
Step2
When your design is ready, apply the puff paint with a paintbrush working in small sections. Some puff paints come in bottles with applicator tops. In this case, you would just squeeze the bottle and apply with the applicator's tip.
Step3
Before the paint dries, you will need to apply heat with you hairdryer. The paint will puff up and add it's 3-D effect.
Step4
Wash your brushes immediately following or the dried paint could cause the bristles to harden, rendering them unusable for next time. If you are using an applicator bottle, clean the tops so that leftover paint doesn't harden and clog the tip.
Tips & Warnings
Paint your project in sections instead of all at the same time. You will need to blow-dry the painted sections before they dry, so if you are working on too large of an area, you may miss out on the ability for the paint to puff.
Never apply puff paint too thick or it will peel and flake off!
Do not blow-dry excessively close to the paint when you are applying the heat. You could burn the fabric!
