Many women are finding out that snowboarding isn't just for the guys and they are getting in on the fun. Easy to learn and not requiring a lot of equipment, snowboarding has become a hot winter sport. There is a difference between snowboards for men and those for women, so you need to choose the right one if you are going hit the slopes. Size does matter when it comes to snowboards, ladies.

Instructions

    • 1

Look for a board that fits your feet. Women have smaller feet than men, so they require a more narrow board. Your feet should just come close to the edge without hanging over. If your feet have too much room on either end, you won't be able to dig into the snow on the turns.

The length is another factor. If you are a short woman, you need a shorter board. Taller women will require a board with a little more length.

    • 3

Flex size is another factor. These boards do have the ability to bend, and you need that for mobility on the slopes. If you are a petite woman, you may need one a little softer, with a little more flex. A larger, or even more muscular woman will not require a very soft board. Test the boards flexibility by pressing in the middle.

Tips & Warnings

  • There are companies that claim that they make boards just for women. If you see these boards in the stores, don't just assume that they will be right for you. Check the foot width, length and flex before you buy.
