Things You'll Need:
- Skateboard
- Skating skills
- Concrete surface
- Protective gear
-
Step 1
Get used to how the nose and the tail work. The skateboard has two beveled edges, one on the front and one on the rear. These are the nose and the tail. The beveled edges allow you to do tricks by raising or lowering the height of a portion of the board.
-
Step 2
Master the ollie. To ollie you slide your front foot upwards as you pop the tail of the skateboard with your rear foot. When done properly, the board pops up into the air about a foot and gains a momentum. An ollie is essential to being able to nose stall on your skateboard.
-
Step 3
Practice short nose slides. To nose slide simply gain some speed and approach a small curb. Ollie just before you reach the curb and instead of sliding your front foot back to the middle of the board to land the ollie, instead slide it to the nose and bring your rear foot forwards. This will enable you balance the nose of the board on the curb and nose slide, to hop off simply ollie again and reset your stance.
-
Step 4
Attempt a nose stall. Gain speed towards a small curb or rail. Ollie just before you reach the curb or rail. Keep sliding your front foot forwards towards the nose, as you keep your rear foot on the tail of the board. Lean inwards as the nose of the board connects with the rail or the curb, this will create a momentary stall on the curb or the rail. Shift your balance the opposite direction to hop off the rail or the curb.
