If you are trying to stretch every dollar, and these days, who isn't, your grocery budget is a good place to start. Here are some ways to help you save money on comforting, soothing, delicious tea.

From Quick Guide: Tea Time
Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Don't make a dainty cup of tea. If you plan on sipping a second cup, use a single tea bag to prepare a larger mug instead. This way you'll buy half as much tea.

  2. Step 2

Grow your own tea. Many herbal plants, such as mint, lemon balm or chamomile can be grown at home and dried for fresh, nearly free tea. Simply purchase a reusable tea ball rather than using tea bags.

  3. Step 3

Use a coffee maker and brew a pot of tea using one or two teabags. Brewing tea this way will stretch your tea further. This is a great way to make iced tea as well.

  4. Step 4

Buy tea in bulk. Stores such as natural foods stores and co-ops stock a wide variety of bulk loose tea. Simply use a reusable tea ball.

  5. Step 5

Buy tea online from wholesalers at a fraction of the cost.

Tips & Warnings
  • Mix fresh brewed ice tea with various fruit juices for a different, delicious drink.

on 5/25/2009 I love tea, I drink my tea with soy milk as if I was drinking coffee, so I drink coffee and tea the same way.
