Things You'll Need:
- Stipple sponge
- Cosmetic sponge (wedge)
- Moisturizer
- Colored powder makeup shavings (eyeshadows, blushes etc.)
-
Step 1
To give the putty the appearance of real skin, you can use a clean stipple sponge. By pressing the sponge gently into the putty, you can create a 3-D appearance that resembles skin. The look of pours and wrinkles can be achieved using this technique.
-
Step 2
To add color to the newly textured putty, dip your sponge into a bit of moisturizer, followed by a dab of the desired color.
-
Step 3
You will then stipple the color onto the putty in the same way you did with the clean sponge. This will create an even more realistic effect.
-
Step 4
When the desired color and texture is achieved, you will need to do a bit of blending. Sometimes because you are stippling on the color and not brushing it on, it can look a little spotty. For instance there may be too much color in one area and not enough in another. This is when you want to use your cosmetic sponge. Blend to get your desired effect.
