When summer approaches so does the wedding season. It is likely that you will have a stack of invitations that might make you feel like a professional wedding guest. You might just want to stay home for a weekend and lay around or do yard work, but these weddings are too plentiful and too expensive. What can you do?

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
You can't possibly attend all of the weddings Look ahead! Prioritize and decide which weddings you are obligated to attend and RSVP right away so you don't have that hanging over your head. Don't make excuses, just politely decline.
Step2
Bow out gracefully. You might get a lot of invites to stand up in some of these weddings. If you are not really close to this person it is perfectly acceptable to decline. Just nicely explain that you have too much on your plate to possibly do everything that a bridesmaid is supposed to do.
Step3
If you want to go but don't want your whole day to revolve around the wedding, partake in either the ceremony or the reception.
Step4
Pamper yourself on occassion. Treat yourself to a few of the weddings and use it as an excuse to buy yourself a new outfit.

Tips & Warnings

  • Don't feel guilty. While it may be the bride's wedding it is also your summer.
  • Keep in mind that if you allow yourself to feel obligated, then you will be spending a lot of money and time that could have been spent around the house.
