Step 1
When first getting you boots, make sure they are waterproofed. If not, you can buy a waterproofing kit yourself, or take then to your local shoemaker to have them waterproofed. Your boots will thank you later!

Step 2
Take a good look at the soles of your boots. Do they have maximum traction? Could you easily wear and tear them in just a few uses? If so, then take them to your local shoe maker to have extra traction applies to their soles. This should cost no more than thirty dollars, half the price of replacing your boots.

Step 3
If they are starting to look worn, nothing boosts your boots like a good polish. You can do this at home, as shoe polish is a very inexpensive way to protect the leather of your boots.
