Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Talk to your priest or minister about your idea. You should discuss with him when you would want to have your day of fellowship and how you would go about doing it. Many churches have fellowship directly after Sunday service while others have it during the week as a way to get members of the church together on a day other than Sunday.
Step2
Find a place to have your day of fellowship. This will depend on the size of your church. Some churches use a gymnasium, for example, if the church is connected to a school that has a gym for fellowship. Others use classrooms or a basement room. You'll want to be sure that there is enough room for food, drinks, chairs and for people to walk around and socialize during fellowship.
Step3
Speak with other members of the church about participating in a day of fellowship. You'll need people to either make or bring in food and beverages for the day of fellowship. You should also find enough tables and chairs if your church doesn't have them.
Step4
Ask your priest or minister to announce the day of fellowship to the congregation weeks ahead of time. This will get the word out to those who may have not heard about the day of fellowship yet. Have her continue to make this announcement every week leading up to the actual day of fellowship.
Step5
Place an announcement regarding the day of fellowship in the church bulletin weeks ahead of time. Sad as it is, many people don't pay attention to everything when they're in church. However, those same people will read a bulletin. Placing the announcement in the bulletin is a good way to make sure everybody knows about the day of fellowship.
Step6
Be open to any suggestions or criticisms from members of your church regarding the day of fellowship. Some people, for example, may suggest having the day of fellowship on a different day or at a different time. Be willing to discuss any changes that may be necessary in order to improve the day of fellowship for all church goers.
