Things You'll Need:
- A spa that specializes in facials
- The facts on what type of products that the spa uses for facials
-
Step 1
Choose wisely when picking a spa for your facial. Make sure they take facials and skin care seriously. Stay clear of places that offer many services but do have a sign that offers facials too.
-
Step 2
Talk to the facialist first before getting your facial. The facialist should ask you a series of questions about any allergies that you might have or if any of the products that they use might be too harsh for your face.
-
Step 3
Protect yourself by making sure that the facialist wears gloves when doing extractions. Also, remember that a facial should never hurt.
-
Step 4
Stick with the facial at the spa. If you want to get further treatment such as microdermabrasions, it is best to see a dermatologist. When the spa tries to add on extras keep in mind that oxygen treatments are a waste and collagen masks can be done at home for a fraction of the cost.
-
Step 5
Care for your face well after a facial as it is now vulnerable for about a week. Avoid harsh scrubs, alpha hydroxy scrubs and retinoids.
