When your tooth hurts, your whole body hurts. It also becomes a massive, horrible obsession that makes you unable to function. You can get your functioning power and sanity back, if you ease a sore tooth with a few simple steps.
Things You'll Need
- Dentist appointment
Clean the area surrounding the tooth with toothpick, floss and brush. Sometimes a tooth is sore because a piece of spinach or other substance is jammed next to it.
Take some pain relievers. Good ole aspirin or the like will do wonders to ease all pain.
Get some Anbesol and apply liberally to the area surrounding the tooth.
Numb the area with an ice pack. If you don’t have an ice pack, you can use frozen peas or other foodstuff as long as you eat them once they thaw and don’t re-freeze.
Call your dentist. Good ones will make time for emergency appointments that same day.
Tips & Warnings
- You can also get your mind off a sore tooth by creating bigger pain elsewhere in your body, such as smashing your thumb with a hammer. This method, however, is not recommended.
- Stop poking at it!
