In Microsoft Outlook, an event is an occurrence that lasts 24 hours or longer. For example, you might schedule your vacation or weeklong training seminar as an event in Outlook. Here's how.

Things You'll Need:

  • Computer with Microsoft Outlook
  1. Step 1

    Open Microsoft Outlook by clicking the icon on your "Start" menu, desktop or taskbar. You can also find it in your "Programs" menu.

  2. Step 2

    In your Outlook task pane, click on "Calendar."

  3. Step 3

    Click on "Actions" in the toolbar. From the drop-down menu, click on "New All Day Event."

  4. Step 4

    Enter any and all pertinent information for your event in the "Subject," "Location" and "Message" fields. Select a date and the start and ending time from the drop-down menus.

  5. Step 5

    Click "Save and Close."
