The Super Bowl is as American as apple pie and even if your favorite team isn't playing it's still a great excuse for a party. If you’re hosting a Super Bowl party, you’ll probably want to spend most of your time watching the game with your friends and not cooking in the kitchen. The key to making fabulous Super Bowl snacks is to make them ahead of time.

Tips on Snacks to Serve for a Super Bowl Party

  1. Step 1

Prepare dips ahead of time. You can’t go wrong with chips and dip, but aside from the usual sour cream onion dip, try making a hot dip or a weightier dip that will fill your guests up. A Mexican layer dip or a buffalo chicken dip are two popular dips that your guests will love. Serve them with hearty tortilla chips or with crackers or celery sticks.

  2. Step 2

Try to incorporate your team’s colors into your appetizers. If your team’s colors are green and white make a basic white sour cream dip and a green spinach dip. By using your team’s colors you’ll get that team spirit going. If red is one of your team’s colors, make a roasted red pepper dip or a sundried tomato spread.

  3. Step 3

Use your crock pot. Your crock pot will keep appetizers hot without you having to constantly get up to check your oven. Make mini sweet and sour meatballs and keep them heated on your crock pot’s "warm" setting. Make sure to keep toothpicks nearby so your guests can grab a meatball easily.
