Tom Cruise is one of the most recognizable faces in Hollywood, and his career spans several decades. Whether you admire his work, think he is a hunk or find him comical due to his current Scientology-oriented press, he is undeniably entertaining. For an rainy afternoon of fun, invite the girls (or the boys) over for a Tom Cruise movie marathon that will have everyone giggling, cringing and applauding from the sofa. Here's how.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Tom Cruise movies from your local movie rental club

How to Have a Tom Cruise Movie Marathon

Step1
Start with a Tom Cruise movie classic, "Risky Business." This comical look at a "home-based business" is how Tom got his start and where the famous "underwear dance" originated. Bring your sunglasses to play along.
Step2
Pop in "Top Gun." Although a real favorite for the gals, men enjoy it too, even if just to mock all the shirtless studs. I can personally recite most of this movie, and I bet you can too! Awesome!
Step3
Now that you are four hours into your marathon, let's get a bit darker with "Interview With a Vampire." This is one of my all-time favorites, and even if your not a Cruise fan, Brad Pitt will keep you interested, along with a really great story and visual effects.
Step4
"Minority Report" is the perfect follow-up for action and sci-fi fans. This futuristic flick has a great story line about law and crime prevention and offers a whole lot more. This will give you that second wind you need at this point in your marathon and keep you glued to your seat.
Step5
Wrap it up with "War of the Worlds." Another sci-fi thriller, this remake is terrific and will make you want to pop one more bowl of corn. It's a Steven Spielberg flick, so you know you won't be disappointed.

Tips & Warnings

  • Plan ahead and send invites to your friends. List the movies you plan on showing and ask them to dress as one of the characters in the film they enjoy the most.
  • Incorporate a Cruise theme in your snacks, like Cruise-Quesadillas,
  • Some of the movies at the end of the marathon might be scary for the kids, so send them off to another room with some movies of their own.
