Instructions

    • 1

Peel away the leaves at the stem.

    • 2

Wash the head of cauliflower and trim away any brown spots by scraping them off with your knife.

    • 3

Place the cauliflower on your cutting board and hold it firmly in place by the "head" or top.

    • 4

Chop off and discard the stem of the cauliflower, removing all parts of the stem that you do not wish to cook.

    • 5

Slice at the base of each stalk, separating the head into manageable pieces.

    • 6

Decide how big or small you want the pieces to be for your dish. Either chop from the bottom of the stalk working up to the sprout, or slice the stalk lengthwise, leaving longer pieces.

    • 7

Set aside for cooking once you have the desired size.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can also buy pre-cut, pre-washed cauliflower at most grocery stores. If the pieces are still too big, place on a cutting board and chop to desired size.

  • Always practice knife safety when working in the kitchen.
