Though they often bear a great deal of weight, stress and strain, our wrists are relatively small joints made up of delicate ligaments and tendons. The best way to avoid injury and pain is to keep them flexible, which you can accomplish in just 5 minutes a day when you do wrist rotation yoga exercises.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy
Step1
Sit on the floor, legs stretched out straight before you, hands resting on your thighs. Close your eyes and breathe deeply for a few moments to prepare for the wrist rotation yoga exercises.
Step2
Stretch your arms out straight in front of you, though be careful not to hyperextend at the elbows. With your arms stretched out straight, close your hands into fists, with your thumbs tucked inside. You need not clench. The fists should be loose and comfortable.
Step3
Slowly rotate your fists at the wrists--your right fist completing circles in a clockwise position and your left fist completing circles in a counterclockwise position. Complete 10 rotations.
Step4
Switch the direction of each fist’s rotation--your right fist now moving in a counterclockwise position and your left fist now moving in a clockwise position. Complete 10 rotations.
Step5
Stretch your hands out straight and slowly guide them to rest on your thighs. Breathe deeply for a few moments to end the wrist rotation yoga exercises.

Tips & Warnings

  • Always breathe through your nose. It not only warms the air to your body temperature but also helps promote longer, deeper breathing.
