How to Boil Water for a French Press

Using a French press makes for delicious coffee. Follow these simple steps to boil water and you're well on your way.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • French press
  • Coffee
  • Pot or kettle for boiling water
  • Mug
Step1
Fill your French press with water.
Step2
Pour the water into a pot or tea kettle. If you do not have a range, pour the water into a microwave safe bowl.
Step3
Heat the kettle or pot on high. Cover the pot to boil more quickly. If using a microwave, place the bowl in the microwave and microwave on high for four minutes or until water starts to boil.
Step4
Remove from heat after water reaches a boil. Add to the French press, cover and let stand for five minutes.
Step5
Push the handle of the French press down slowly.
Step6
Pour and serve.
