For more advanced video editors who want to create professional-looking videos, there is a lot that can be done is Adobe Premiere Pro. A simple and effective tool in the program can create an effect that makes text disappear.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Open up Adobe Premiere Pro and begin a new project. Keep the default settings, and name the project something like “Title” or “Disappearing Text.”

  2. Step 2

Create a new text file. To do this, click on the icon with the little picture of the peeling-back paper in the project window. Click the option “Title….” The Adobe Title Designer will automatically pop up.

  3. Step 3

Begin typing your text. You can type anything you want, like “Disappearing Text,” for example. Choose a font and any colors you want except for black.

  4. Step 4

Escape the title design area by pressing the X icon in the upper-right corner. A prompt will ask you to save your title. Save the title, giving it a name you will remember. Once the text is saved, it will appear as a source file in your project window.

  5. Step 5

Click and drag the text down to the Video 2 layer in the Timeline window.

  6. Step 6

Click the new item button again in the project window and select “Black Video.” This will add a new video clip in your project bar that is simply a black video.

  7. Step 7

Drag the black video icon down into the Video 1 section of your timeline.

  8. Step 8

Expand your files to around 15 seconds in length. Right-click on one of the files and click “Speed/Duration.” Change the duration to 15:00 and click "OK." Do the same for the other clip.

  9. Step 9

Highlight the text file in the timeline and then open the Effect Controls tab in the Monitor window.

  10. Step 10

Click the arrow under “Opacity,” and the menu will expand.

  11. Step 11

Find the arrow on a meter that goes from 0 percent to 100 percent. Drag the arrow back and forth to see your text disappear and then reappear. When you are done previewing the disappearing text, set the arrow back to 100 percent.

  12. Step 12

Click the little picture of the clock next to the word "Opacity." This turns on your key frames, which control the animation of the disappearing text.

  13. Step 13

Drag the navigation arrow in the Timeline window all the way over to the 15-second mark.

  14. Step 14

In the opacity menu, drag the arrow over to 0 percent.

  15. Step 15

Press "Enter" to preview the text, which should disappear slowly for 15 seconds. Play around with different key frames and options to watch it reappear or disappear again.
