Getting wax on your clothing does not mean the item is ruined. It can be quite simple to remove. You will have a slightly different process for colored wax versus clear or white wax.
Wait for the wax to dry before attempting to remove it. Wax dries quickly.
Step2
Scrape as much of the wax as possible from the clothing with a knife.
Step3
Place the clothing on an ironing board, with a piece of a paper bag on top of and another piece under the wax stain. Using a hot iron, iron the stain through the paper bag. The wax will transfer from the wax to the fabric to the paper bag. Move the paper bag to a fresh spot that does not have any wax and iron it again. Repeat this step until wax does not transfer to the bag anymore.
Step4
If the wax was colored and left a colored stain behind, you need to dissolve your oxygen-based cleaner in warm water, and stir and work at the stain with a wooden spoon. Allow the stain remover to work overnight.
Step5
Wash the item in your washing machine as usual. Do not dry the item until you are sure the stain in completely gone. If after washing you find that a stain remains, treat it again with oxygen-based remover or regular laundry stain remover. If the item is white and cotton, you can use a bleach pen and wash immediately.
