Things You'll Need:
- Mandoline
- Cutting board
- Potato
-
Step 1
Clean and dry the mandoline before using.
-
Step 2
Peel and clean whole potato.
-
Step 3
Insert serrated blade into the Mandoline. If your Mandoline doesn't come with interchangeable blades, use what you have.
-
Step 4
Adjust the thickness of the cut to your own discretion. If you want a thinly-sliced potato, adjust it so that the space between the blade is thinner. Use knob to adjust thinness or thickness.
-
Step 5
Hold mandoline firmly with one hand to avoid slipping. Hold mandoline with your left hand if you're right-handed, and with your right hand if you are left-handed.
-
Step 6
Hold potato firmly in your other hand, pressing down past the blade. When done correctly, the potato will fall beneath the mandoline. Check to make sure you get the desired thickness after the first slice.
