Before you begin applying makeup, you should always prep your face in order to give the makeup a great place to rest for the day. Proper prepping will not only make your makeup wear longer, but it will look better as well.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Toner or astringent
  • Moisturizer (suitable for your skin type)
  • Makeup primer
  • Mattifier (for T-zone or oily areas)
  1. Step 1

Wash your face, and begin prepping your skin by applying a toner or astringent that is suitable for your skin type.

  2. Step 2

Apply a moisturizer for your skin type; use it over your entire face. Use a separate eye cream for the sensitive eye area.

  3. Step 3

Apply a makeup primer once the moisturizer has sunk into your skin. You should apply the primer over your entire face, except for around your eyes and on your mouth. The primer will help to fill in lines and wrinkles, as well as set a good base for your makeup.

  4. Step 4

Apply your makeup. Your skin is now ready for your makeup; once makeup is applied, if certain areas still feel oily, you can use the mattifier to reduce the oil.
