If you want your mouth to be the focal point of your face, you can use makeup to make your lips stand out. When highlighting the mouth, other facial features should be subdued. Here's how to create a picture-perfect pout with some tips and tricks.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Lipstick
  • Lip liner
  • Lip gloss
  1. Step 1

Choose a lip color. While red is definitely an eye-catching shade, you don't always have to wear a bright color to highlight your mouth.

  2. Step 2

Apply lip liner in a shade that closely matches the lip color you want to use.

  3. Step 3

Draw the lip liner all the way around the outlines of your mouth.

  4. Step 4

Apply lipstick to your lips. You can use a makeup brush or apply the color straight from the tube.

  5. Step 5

Place lip gloss in a light layer all over your lips or just in the middle of your lower lip. The sheen that lip gloss provides will call attention to your lips. This is more important if you're using a nude lip color.

  6. Step 6

Keep the rest of your facial makeup natural and subdued. This means minimal eye makeup and a neutral-toned blush.

Tips & Warnings
  • Use lip gloss that contains sparkle highlights for added shine.
