How to Track Exercise to The Daily Plate

Everyone knows, the secret to successful dieting is a combination of exercise and controlling your calorie intake. Monitoring your calories is certainly important, but you really need to factor in the amount of exercise you are getting if you are ever going to put the calories in proper perspective. Fortunately, it is very easy to track the amount of calories you burn through exercise by using The Daily Plate. Here’s how.

Things You'll Need:

  • An account at The Daily Plate (free)
  1. Step 1
    Log In
    Log In

    Log in to your account on The Daily Plate web site. If you do not already have an account at The Daily Plate, you can get one for free. It only takes a minute to sign up.

  2. Step 2
    Click Fitness
    Click Fitness

    From within your profile on The Daily Plate, look at the list of menu links that go across the top portion of the site. Locate and click on the menu link that says “Fitness.”

    From the Fitness page, there are two ways to find the exercise (or other physical activity) that you did. One is to simply type the name of the activity into the search bar at the top of the screen. Otherwise, you may browse through the categories of activities until you find the one you did. This is also a useful way of getting ideas for new calorie burning activities.

    Once you have located the exercise you did, locate and click on the button that says “I did this.”

    Enter the information about how long you did the activity for, then click the button marked “Save and Calculate.”

    You will be returned to your “My Plate” page within your profile on The Daily Plate. You will notice that the information is now listed in the Fitness area, but needs to be confirmed. Make sure the information is correct, then click the button marked “Update.” After this confirmation, the calories burned will be deducted from your daily consumption.

Tips & Warnings
  • It is important to open your mind beyond traditional exercise and to track any physical activity that you do throughout the day, particularly those who are performing manual labor at their job.
