Step 1
Does your mother love Oprah, Jay Leno, or The Price is Right? Get her tickets to the show to sit in the audience. If she doesn't live in the city where the show is taped, make a weekend trip out of it. Book a hotel and plane tickets and whisk her away for a fun-filled weekend. Try to book these tickets far in advance. So, even if the show doesn't fall on Mother's Day, it can be booked in the near future.

Step 2
Take your mother on a Caribbean vacation! Search travel websites like Expedia, Travelocity and Cheaptickets for deals on vacation packages, flights and hotels.
-
Step 3
Listen for things your mother likes to do. If she talks about wanting to try new recipes, enroll her in a cooking class. Perhaps she's talked about taking an exciting dance class. Enroll her in salsa lessons or belly dancing.
-
Step 4
Most moms love to shop. Just for kicks, set up an appointment with a personal shopper or stylist. At most department stores, like Saks Fifth Avenue and Bloomingdales, this service is complimentary.
-
Step 5
Take her out to dinner at a unique place to dine. Perhaps there's a restaurant nearby that serves unique cuisine like Russian, Indian, Brazilian, etc. that has a dining experience. For example, perhaps there's a belly dancing show or a mariachi band. Do your research on city guide websites.

Step 6
Rather than giving your mother a bouquet of roses, give her a bouquet of colorful tulips or orchids. Head to your local florist and find a new flower that will make your mother smile.
