If your pantry is disorganized, it makes it difficult to know what you have, as well as what you might need. By taking the time to reorganize your pantry once and for all, your cooking, cleaning and grocery shopping will become much simpler.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Completely empty your pantry shelves. Wipe them down with a damp sponge or disposable wipes. Follow up with a dry towel.

  2. Step 2

Begin restocking by placing your most used items at eye level. Categorize like items, such as baking items or rices and pastas, together.

  3. Step 3

Replace all of your food, placing less used items on harder to reach shelves and checking expiration dates as you go.

  4. Step 4

As you are putting away and throwing out cans, boxes and bags of food, keep a running grocery list of items you need to replace.

  5. Step 5

Look for ways you can further organize your pantry by hanging wire racks for foil and plastic wrap, or a hanging spice rack.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you have small children, ask your spouse or a friend or relative to take them out of the house for a few hours so you can reorganize your pantry without interrupitons.
  • Don't store cleaning products with food items.
