Create a blank mini-book with some clever folding and just one little snip. These books are perfect for students, teachers, kids, crafters, and gift-givers.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • One sheet of 8 1/2 x 11 inch paper or 9 x 12 inch construction paper
  • Scissors (optional)
  1. Step 1

Neatly fold the paper in half lengthwise. Or as your elementary school teacher might have said, "Fold it like a hotdog."

  2. Step 2

Undo the fold, opening the paper to its original size and shape. You will see the crease down the middle.

  3. Step 3

Fold the paper in half the other way . . . like a hamburger! Keep it folded.

  4. Step 4

Take each side of the paper and fold it back toward the middle fold.

  5. Step 5

Turn the paper so that the main, middle fold is pointing up. Find the middle, vertical crease on the main fold and either cut or tear it, stopping when you reach the perpendicular crease.

  6. Step 6

Grip the paper on the main, middle fold on each side of the cut. Gently pull the two sides down in opposite directions, bringing them together until you've folded it completely in half.

  7. Step 7

Press the pages together. Tad-a! You have a six-page mini-book to write and illustrate.

Tips & Warnings
  • Be sure to fold the paper neatly and make firm creases.
