Quiche is great any time of the day and has endless variations and ingredients. Here is one of my all-time favorite recipes -- a very filling, flavorful quiche with rich chedder cheese, broccoli florets and rice.
one package of all-in-one frozen broccoli, cheese and rice (Green Giant, for example)
Salt, Pepper
Fresh or Powdered Garlic
One frozen pie shell
Step1
Preheat the oven to 375. Let a regular, deep dish pie crust thaw for about twenty minutes on the counter.
Step2
Beat together four eggs and one cup of milk. Add salt and pepper to taste and one teaspoon of garlic.
Step3
In a seperate bowl, heat up frozen package of broccoli, cheese and rice until fully steamed and ready to serve.
Step4
In frozen pie shell, sprinkle a layer of chedder cheese.
Step5
In pie shell, pour broccoli mixture on top of chedder cheese.
Step6
Slowly pour egg/milk mixture on top of ingredients in pie shell. Sprinkle the rest of the chedder cheese on top.
Step7
Put quiche into the oven on the top burner. Slide an empty cookie sheet on the second rack to catch any egg mixture that may fall from the sides of the shell.
Step8
Bake for forty-five minutes or until golden brown on top.
Tips & Warnings
Quiche should serve five to six people
Do NOT pre-heat the pie shell, or it may burn while baking.
