Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 4 oz. measuring cup
  • 4 oz. spray bottle
  • measuring spoon (1/2 tsp)
  • citronella essential oil
  • cedarwood essential oil
  • eucalyptus essential oil
  • lavender essential oil
  • witch hazel
  • polysorbate 20
  1. Step 1

in your measuring cup add the following:
1/2 teaspoon Citronella essential oil, 1/2 teaspoon cedarwood essential oil, 1/2 teaspoon eucalyptus, 1/2 teaspoon lavender & 1-1/2 teaspoons of polysorbate 20.

  2. Step 2

mix the essential oils and polysorbate 20 together in your measuring cup first. once mixture is combined, then it is safe to add in 4 oz. of witch hazel. Your solution may be cloudy, this is normal.

  3. Step 3

Pour your mosquito be gone mixture into your 4 oz. sprayer and make sure to keep it on hand when you happen to be out and about. This is a great way to keep those mosquitos away without all those other harmful ingredients that so many of the commercial mosquito repellants contain.

Tips & Warnings
  • Tip: For each 1/2 teaspoon of essential oil, you will need to add equal amounts of the polysorbate 20, ie. if you add 1 teaspoon of oil, you will need to add 1 teaspoon of polysorbate 20, this will keep your essential oils from seperating in the witch hazel.
  • This is for external use only. Do not get spray into eyes. If product does get into eyes, flush with water immediately.
