Things You'll Need:
- Anti-inflammatory medication
- Crutch
- Ice pack
-
Step 1
Rest as much as possible. Your muscles need some time to heal the muscle fibers. If the pulled groin is severe, you may find that using crutches can help you get around easier.
-
Step 2
Apply cold pack to the injury. You can also wrap ice in a towel and put this on your injured groin. Use ice as soon as possible after sustaining the injury. You can apply ice several times a day for several days. Never leave ice on the injured site for longer than 15 minutes. If you do, the ice may cause serious damage to your skin. Ice can help to reduce swelling, pain, and bruising.
-
Step 3
Take an over-the-counter anti-inflammatory medication. Ibuprofen works well for pulled muscles. It also helps with inflammation and pain. If you are taking any prescribed medication, consult with your pharmacist to avoid any interactions.
