Things You'll Need:
- internet access
- web browser
-
Step 1
Identify how you want to search for your quote. Many quotation resource websites allow you to search by author, general topic, and specific keywords.
-
Step 2
If your search term is really broad, such as the name of a prolific and/or famous author, you're likely to get many results for your search. This is great if you want to read as many quotes by this person as you can. If you're looking for something more specific, try to include the author and topic in your search. If you know an exact phrase of a quote you want to find, try entering "the exact phrase in quotes" in a general search engine such as Google.com, Yahoo.com, or Ask.com. If you're starting out on a more general search, browsing by topic or keyword may be most helpful.
-
Step 3
Some popular resources for quotations include links listed below. Some of these sites search multiple databases and offer links to many topic, source, and style-specific quotation resources.
